• OUR PACKAGING: Our gourmet desserts are frozen and shipped in insulated containers with dry ice. Although we still recommend 1 day shipping during warmer months, our new shipping containers allow the option for 2 day shipping, thus reducing the overall shipping costs of our customers.
  
  
• SHIPPING SCHEDULE: Arrival dates are available Tuesday through Saturday. We are unable to deliver Sunday or Monday or holidays. Shipping rates are based on shipping weight and distance from our bakery to the destination. Any on-line orders placed after 12:00pm are unable to be shipped until the next business day. We are not held responsible for orders delayed by events and incidents beyond our or Federal Express's control including severe weather conditions and incorrect addresses.
  
  
• TIME IN TRANSIT: All orders are sent via Federal Express anywhere in the 50 states, including Alaska and Hawaii. At the time of your purchase, you will be offered several FedEx shipping methods.

• CREAM CHEESE ICINGS: We strongly encourage selecting the Next Day shipping on all cakes with a cream cheese icing (i.e., Red Velvet and Pumpkin). If the 2nd day option is chosen, we will not be able to guarantee the cake will arrive in perfect condition. PO BOXES- We do not ship to PO Boxes. Due to the perishable nature of our products, we need to have a street address to ensure delivery. For the convenience of our customers, Original Smith Island Cake Company does not require a signature. However, it is highly suggested that due to the perishable nature of the products that the customer arrange for someone to be present at deliver to prevent packages from being left out all day. If you or the recipient are not present when delivery is attempted, we cannot be responsible for the condition of your gourmet product, as it may be left in weather conditions detrimental to the cake.
