The Test Kitchen has been developing magnificent new flavors so that we have a nice, full menu of choices available for our grand opening! Some recent additions include:

coffee lovers - Check out our "coffee drinkers dream cake"! Imagine... rich, fluffy, yellow cake, layered with coffee infused French butter cream and delectable homemade cinnamon coffee crumbs. Topped with espresso flavored chocolate beans and chocolate swirls. The entire cake is then rolled in our homemade crumbs for an excellent addition to a cup of coffee.

Or if chocolate is your downfall...

double chocolate fantasy - We start with our super decadent, rich milk chocolate cake, layer it with chocolate mousse, smother it with our decadent dark chocolate ganache and finish the entire cake off with chocolate shavings. This cake is dripping in deep chocolate richness. Chocoholics, this dessert is for you!

summer is coming...so our master pastry chef is hard at work on developing luscious cake versions of our favorite summer treats! Visualize berry cobblers and shortcakes, and tropical island creations!

construction update: original smith island cake company
Construction has begun!!! While you can't physically see it yet, there is quite a bit happening on the building end of original smith island cake company. It's going to be lovely, blue, silver & chocolate brown, beautiful lighting, comfy chairs, a cozy setting that will keep you coming back for more. The café is going to be a place to come in & relax, enjoy coffee and a gourmet dessert with your friends and family. Wi-Fi also available. If all goes as planned, expect to see us open and baking gourmet delights in Spring 2009! Keep an eye on our web site as it's under construction as well. Sign up below to receive periodic updates on our construction progress. For our grand opening, locals and tourists coming to Ocean City, MD, will receive a discount of $5 off a $30 in-store purchase.

Our cakes were unveiled to the public on March 8th and 9th at the Ocean City, MD Hotel-Motel Restaurant Association 35th Annual Spring Trade Expo. Our gourmet cakes were a huge hit! We were told by many that we were the most popular booth at the show! Over 2,500 people sampled our cakes, with many local Eastern Shore businesses being very excited about carrying our many delectable desserts.
